Applications Sys Analyst - CMC - Baybrook Office

The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction, this position is responsible for providing basic to intermediate analysis and documentation of business and management problems for systems and programming requirements. Assists in providing solutions to problems utilizing more efficient operational procedure, work flow, and information technology solution.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Solves routine issues and applies solutions under general direction for components of a system or program.
• Modifies system design to maximize efficient use of systems or programs.
• Applies intermediate analysis and documentation skills to create and maintain documentation.
• Gathers data and prepares system documentation for existing and proposed procedures.
• Assists in establishing project plan, maintains priorities and completes assignments within project timeframe.
• Demonstrates awareness and understanding of institution, department and customer mission and goals.
• Defines and analyzes problems; develops and verifies solutions; reviews applications or programs for logical sequence and errors.
• Focuses on components of a system rather than the whole system/application.
• Proactively partners with customers to meet their needs.
• Understands customer needs.
• Participates as a team member.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.

Client Services Support Staff

• Works directly with customers to resolve problems in a medical EHR (Pearl) environment.
• Collaborates with team members to resolve difficult issues.
• Documents actions take in IS Service Management Software (Ivanti) and in internal change control.
• Runs daily SQL scripts to clean data.

Secondary Skills

• Unix shell programming, familiarity with AIX, korn shell, cron and Perl.
• Ability to work with interface structures (flat files, csv) and knowledge of FTP, HL7 and X12.
• Web development, including knowledge in: HTML, PHP, ASP, Javascript & AJAX.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Standard office environment. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.

WORK LOCATION:

Remotely but may be required to work out of the Baybrook Office Park (CMC Offices) in Friendswood on occasion.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; work schedule subject to change based on business need.
