Biocontainment Equipment Technician II 19.99 hrs. (Animal Resource Center - Galveston)
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Electronics or Biomedical Technology. Three years of related experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.
Job Summary:
To provide intermediate-level technical skills needed in the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and modification of medical and laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Job Duties:
- Performs analysis and isolation of mechanical or electrical malfunctions.
- Inspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities according to blueprints or written specifications.
- Examines and tests equipment to locate malfunctioning components and repair or replace defective parts.
- Reassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components to ensure specified operations
- Participates in the development of quality control and preventative maintenance programs.
- Runs safety tests on potentially all medical and/or laboratory equipment and record documentation
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
