Director, Faculty Group Practice
Job Summary:
Management and responsibility of the Faculty Group Practice (FGP) and the Clinical Enterprise’s daily operations for clinical growth including business planning, and implementation of Institutional goals in conjunction with those of the FGP and Clinical Enterprise. Coordinates and manages a variety of projects in support of the FGP and Clinical Enterprise with a focus on the strategic hire process, policy and procedure and practice guideline development, clinic operational metric monitoring, project management and organizational analysis. Involved in the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans to grow and optimize the FGP and Clinical Enterprise Goals.
Scope: Faculty Group Practice (Net Patient Care Revenue of ~ $250M) and institutional growth.
- Works with the Associate Vice President, FGP Business Development and Clinical Operations and Chief Physician Executive, Faculty Group Practice and SVP, Health System Ambulatory Operations & Surgical Services to develop and implement strategies for short, and long-term planning and program development for the growth of the practice plan.
- In conjunction with the Associate Vice President, FGP Business Development and Clinical Operations, implement strategies developed in the institutional clinical strategic planning process as they relate to the Faculty Group Practice and the Clinical Enterprise.
- In conjunction with the AVP and Ambulatory Directors provides oversight of clinical operational metrics and FGP administration meetings and agenda items
- Researches and identifies potential areas for clinical growth improvement opportunities based on FGP, CE, and School of Medicine (SOM) department, and ambulatory dyad goals, and national benchmarking metrics.
- Identifies, develops, and implements strategic and tactical FGP and Clinical Enterprise business plans and projects in support of the UTMB Mission and Vision.
- Executes job responsibilities demonstrating leadership, expertise, and creative approaches to the management of developmental needs that contribute to the growth of the FGP.
- Partners with the Ambulatory Directors on various projects within the Ambulatory space.
- Demonstrates a high level of productivity and dependability through the effective and efficient use of time and resources, with little or no supervision.
- Serves on various institutional committees or user groups.
- Identifies appropriate internal controls for the department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Represents the Chief Physician Executive and/or Associate Vice President for Clinical Business Development as required at institutional meetings.
- Assists the Associate Vice President, Faculty Group Practice Business Development and Clinical Operations and the Chief Physician Executive (CPE) of the Faculty Group Practice and Senior Vice President (SVP) of Health System Ambulatory Operations & Surgical Services with departmental strategic planning activities.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism
- Competence in dealing with a variety of individuals including physicians, researchers and university administrators
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem resolution
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field
- Five (5) years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field
- Seven (7) years of related experience
- Related experience in academic medicine or a large medical practice
