Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, with six years of T-SQL experience in relational database modeling, preferably in a large, complex healthcare environment, and five years of Dimensional Modeling Skills. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree in Computer Science or Computer Science/Information Systems.
  • Working experience with Azure Synapse Analytics Data Platform.
  • Working experience with Azure Data Lakes.
  • Working experience with Azure Data Factory or Synapse Pipelines.
  • Experience working with EPIC data and Clarity/Caboodle.
  • Knowledge and experience of database management technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience of Data Governance.
  • Experience with Power BI.

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for integration, migration, and optimization of academic, research, clinical, and business data flow and collections across a variety of environments, working with other professional groups across the entire enterprise. Support other technology specialists, including Software Engineers, Data Architects, Data Scientists, Web Developers, and Quality Analysts. Helps to develop the data and ETL architecture and analytics environment to support an automated Enterprise Data Platform that supports academic, clinical, research, and business data analysis.

Job Duties:

  • Design and implement robust clinical data models from Epic Clarity and Caboodle databases and other healthcare data sources. Ensure consistency and integrity across the Unified Data Platform.
  • Use data and information innovatively to support enterprise-wide analytics and decision-making in the domains of Quality, Patient Safety, and Patient Experience.
  • Create/maintain the clinical data architecture to increase the robustness, performance, and scalability of systems.
  • Guide data consistency between development Source Systems, Application, Ancillary Systems, and the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Track progress and communicate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the project within time, cost, and quality.
  • Interact with clinical/business partners and 3rd party vendors to highlight the correct information, risks, and open issues, and the impact on data architecture and analytics-related projects.
  • Assist in establishing standards and guidelines for the design & development, tuning, deployment, and maintenance of information, advanced data analytics, and text mining models, and physical data persistence technologies.
  • Serves as a technical lead for compiling, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing data related to department projects. Develop and implement analytics reports and self-service dashboard solutions utilizing the organization’s business intelligence tools.

 

Marginal or Periodic Functions:

Participate in the Data Advisory Committee or other Governance groups. Oversee and direct the design and development of the data infrastructure. Mentor BI, Data, Application, and Infrastructure Strategy team members on data architecture and analytic toolset. Expose multilayer machine learning systems to customers while maintaining first-class privacy and security standards.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Perform the professional and technical competencies related to data architecture and analytics.
  • Strong developer skills in T-SQL/PL-SQL.
  • Strong Dimensional Modeling skills and Database Design.
  • Experience with Epic Clarity and Caboodle.
  • Robust Query Tuning & Troubleshooting Skills.
  • Development of products using distributed computing & big data products.
  • Organization, management, and standardization of enterprise data.
  • Effective use of information that provides insight into better decision-making.
  • Building and developing pipelines to handle large volumes of heterogeneous medical data

 

Salary Range:

$100,000.00 to $135,000.00, actual salary commensurate with experience.

 

Work Schedule:

This position is mostly remote; however, the individual must be readily available to travel to attend meetings and other work-related in-person activities as needed. Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and also as needed on occasion.
