EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent in related field
3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years’ experience in managing staff or contractors
Competent in RS Means
Experience with drafting software, BAS software or electronic document management and
utilization

Job Description:
To oversee performance of preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance or construction work and to supervise, coordinate, and direct the activities of maintenance or construction work crews and contractors.
Job Duties:
Coordinates and schedules necessary staff to complete work requested by customers or work required to maintain UTMB facilities. Identifies labor and resources needed. Tracks and maintains records of work performed in the electronic work order system.
Oversees work of staff and contractors to maintain quality and quantity standards. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, specifications and all institutional & departmental policies and procedures, including best practices for safety on work sites and as it affects patients and staff.
Assists construction and maintenance leaders with researching existing facility conditions and troubleshooting emergency or complex repairs.
Screens job applicants and makes hiring recommendations to manager. With assistance from manager, handles personnel issues as necessary including counseling and disciplinary action.
Assists in coordination of maintenance and construction work performed by contractors or by contractors in coordination with staff
Inspects work sites during and at the completion of the work to ensure work accuracy and completeness.
Oversees various administrative duties including ordering, receiving, and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment, maintaining accurate information in electronic work order system, managing permits required for work, etc.
Manages work based on written or verbal instructions, specifications, blueprints, or wiring diagrams and provide red-line drawings as required at completion of work
Participate in disaster/hurricane preparedness and response as E1A (Ride out team) or E1B (Recovery team).
Marginal or Periodic Functions:Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects at varying work sites with varying degrees of complexity and urgency
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have strong customer service skills
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
