Federal Work Study Student
JOB SUMMARY:
The position will be an on-campus position. Primary tasks will be to support the patient safety accountability checks within the health system through patient audits and environmental sampling.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform hand hygiene observations.
- Perform isolation observations.
- Perform device related bundle audits.
- Collect environmental surface cultures from inpatient locations within the health system.
- Collect air samples from specified locations in healthcare buildings within the health system.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma, UTMB Student enrolled at least half time. Experience in Microsoft Office.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office, air sampler and laboratory equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Infection Control & Healthcare Epidemiology department, patient care locations, including TDCJ (if clearance received).
