Federal Work Study Student
Job Summary: To provide assistance within the growing division of Digital Pathology.
Essential job functions:
- Ensures glass slides are dry, clean, and cover slipped.
- Inspects glass slides for cracks, air bubbles, coverslip and label placement.
- Loads and unloads racks of slides on Digital Scanners.
- Sorts and organizes glass slides for storage.
- Locates and retrieves glass slides upon request.
Required Education/Experience:
No experience required.
Equipment:
Standard clinical laboratory and office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environments. Position may require extended periods of standing and walking, bending and stooping. Located on the UTMB Galveston campus within the Clinical Services Wing.
Work Schedule:
Flexible work hours in 3-4 hour blocks between 06:00-20:00, Monday-Friday.
