HCSS Building Attendant I - Campus Field House
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide routine manual services to assure clean, orderly and sanitary conditions in and around buildings.
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
Cleans and services entire Field House, offices, hallways, restrooms, and other public areas as needed.
Dust mops, wet mops, polish, vacuums and shampoos carpets, rugs, and furniture.
Cleans and disinfects walls, ceilings, and furniture.
Cleans all horizontal and vertical surfaces as needed.
Maintains pool area, sweeps pool, hoses down pool deck
Checks CO2 gauges, checks chlorine level in tanks, able to read gauges on pump and understand what those numbers mean.
Maintains maintenance sheds on the Fields to make sure they stay neat and orderly
Maintains housekeeping equipment and utility closets in an orderly and clean manner.
Makes sure equipment is working and all equipment not working is reported to Front Desk.
Adheres to internal controls established for department.
Performs related duties as required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Will be required to work overtime.
- Exposure to adverse weather conditions - extreme heat/cold and rain.
- Heavy lifting required: 25 to 50 lbs. frequently; up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Walking: 50 to 75% time.
- Bending/Stooping/Crouching: 25 to 50% time.
- Climbing: 15% to 20% time.
- Pushing/Pulling Objects: 25 to 50% time.
High school diploma or GED. No experience required. However, previous janitorial experience is preferred. Also preferred: basic computer skills, reading and responding to emails. Candidate will be also be trained as front desk staff (sales).
EQUIPMENT:
Standard housekeeping equipment and materials.

Work Schedule will consist of the following:
Weekdays (Monday - Friday)
9:30am - 6:30pm
Weekends - on occasion
Holidays - on occasion
