Job Summary:
Develop and manage the Medical Student Education Program in the Departments in alignment with the School. Provide leadership in selected educational programs and serve as the face of the Department’s Medical Student Education Program bringing expertise in healthcare education and apply it to new educational initiatives.
Job Duties:
- Identify, initiate, and cultivate relationships with potential clinical training sites and preceptors to support the clinical education phase of the PA program.
- Coordinate and conduct regular site visits (in-person and virtual) to assess the quality of clinical education, ensure compliance with program standards, and support preceptor development.
- Create clinical year schedules for courses and update students of any changes.
- Manage Blackboard sites for specific clinical-year courses, including posting syllabus and course materials.
- Assist with exam proctoring, as needed.
- Participate in clinical activities, including call back day scheduling and execution.
- Develop and implement educational initiatives for PA students to stimulate further interest in the specialty.
- Coordinate activities for students with delayed graduation.
- Participate in recruitment events for potential applicants to the PA program.
- Coordinate potential future post-graduate residencies and fellowships.
- Process and maintain affiliation agreements and contracts for facilities, institutions, and agencies through Cobblestone for the UTMB PA Program students in a timely manner
- Provide other departmental administrative support on a per need basis.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of other UTMB systems such as MyStar, Blackboard, and Typhon a plus.
Experience creating course materials, managing student data, and generating analytical reports.
