Postdoctoral Fellow III, Internal Medicine-Endocrinology
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field and three (3) years of completed Postdoctoral Fellow research experience.
Job Description:
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position, and is not expected to be a permanent position.
Job Duties:
- Plan and perform experiments independently
- Prepare lab reports
- Writes protocol
- Interacts with graduate students
- Capable of presenting data at meetings
- Performs related duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to plan and perform experiments independently
- Ability to observe and record experiments/research and report accurately
- Writing skills for protocols, reports, journal manuscripts and funding applications
- Able to plan and perform experiments in an independent manner with minimal supervision
- Able to write papers, protocols, and lab reports associated with project
- Mentoring and teaching skills for interaction with graduate students
- Presentation Skills
Budget Responsibility:
- In some cases, planning and overseeing laboratory research budget.
- Decision -Making Responsibility:
- Responsible for decisions regarding research
Equipment:
- Standard office equipment and specialized tools related to research.
Working Environment/Location of position:
- Standard office and laboratory environment at UTMB’s main campus or other locations.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience
