Senior Research Scientist, Internal Medicine- Nephrology
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD degree and MD or DO in biological sciences, chemistry or related field. 3 - 5 years of related experience
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To support the research initiatives of the University.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Evaluates, selects and applies standard scientific techniques and procedures while using judgment when necessary to adapt standard methods and techniques.
- Contributes to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.
- Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected, compiles and tabulates data, provides analysis of results.
- Confers with lab staff regarding results obtained and receives suggestions for modification to procedures and interpretation of final data.
- Presents research and journal articles in weekly scheduled meetings.
- Presents abstracts or oral presentations at campus events and external conference opportunities.
- Independently performs literature searches as outlined by the Principal Investigator.
- Guides junior research staff in experimental methodologies.
- May submit training grants as PI.
Performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Animal models
- Cell culture
- Molecular biology techniques
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
